​E’ al tempo stesso frustrante e rassicurante sapere che siano potenzialmente infinite le cose del mondo cui dedicare attenzione nel desiderio di ricavarne delle immagini – di pura rappresentazione come di radicale reinvenzione. Ed è perfino più destabilizzante pensare che anche gli approcci interpretativi possibili siano altrettanto infiniti. Pur non potendo certo sperimentarne mille differenti, l’ipotesi di sceglierne solamente uno, magari con l’obiettivo di caratterizzare il mio lavoro a vantaggio di una più evidente riconoscibilità, mi farebbe sentire prigioniero di un percorso prestabilito, tanto “sicuro” quanto vincolante.
La maggior parte di questi progetti potrebbe rimanere “in progress” per lungo tempo. Credo anche che sarà ben poco probabile che gli stessi possano mai dirsi “completati” o “conclusi”. Semplicemente, a partire da un certo momento, non saranno più aggiunte nuove immagini, per le ragioni più varie, e quindi, in fondo, per pura casualità.
Se esiste in questi lavori un elemento che accomuna tanto la scelta dei soggetti quanto il modo di affrontarli, è senz’altro la consapevolezza che sia fondamentalmente il caso a governare ogni cosa.​

​You can feel both frustrated and comforted thinking about such potentially innumerable things of the world you could devote your attention to, wishing to get images out of it – mere representation rather than a result of radical reinvention. But you can feel even more unsettled as you think about the possible interpretive approaches, which are innumerable as well. Though of course I can’t try thousands of them, I definitely could never choose just one – maybe aimed to characterize my work in order to get more “recognisability” – cause I would feel as a prisoner of a predictable route, as safe as well as binding.
Most of these projects could keep “in progress” for a long while. I don’t think I would ever consider them as “completed” or “done”. One day I just will stop adding images, for the most diverse reasons, that means by chance, in the end.
Whenever there is an element capable of bringing together either the choice of subjects or the way to deal with them, it would definitely be the consciousness that everything is absolutely ruled by chance.​
